Dreamboards for Homeschooling
If you have been working through my Best Homeschool Year Yet series, then you should have some ideas of :
- What a dream homeschool year looks like for you.
- How you would like the year to feel.
Today we are going to pull all that together as a dreamboard or vision board.
Every year I get my children to design a vision board showing their dreams and hopes for the future. These have been really inspiring for us! And I have also started creating a ‘homeschool year’ dreamboard for the year as a whole.
Vision Boards are a collage of images that represent your desires, hopes, and dreams. I like to think of it as ‘making a wish’ in pictures. But the act of deciding what you wish for, choosing pictures, and creating the board, seems to help make your dreams come true.
And really, if it is good enough for Oprah……!
Want to see mine 🙂
This one is from last year. The children really wanted a year of adventure (with as much sport as possible!).
You don’t have to find exact pictures for your board – just ones that evoke the ‘feeling’ or essence of what you want.
I usually print out images I like then glue and paste them onto paper. There are also quite a few free online tools for making your vision board. And apps too. There is no right or wrong way to do it – no right or wrong images to choose. Just have fun with it.
So really you have no excuse not to jump in and try it 🙂
Let me know how you get on in the comments.
