20 Ways to have your Best Homeschool Year Yet!
Welcome to Part Five of my how to guide to planning and scheduling your best homeschool year yet.
So far we have looked at ‘the big picture’. We have created a homeschool manifesto and decided what feelings we would like to have about homeschooling. I am hoping that you feel clearer about the type of homeschooling lifestyle you want to achieve.
Today I want to encourage to go wild!
What if you could homeschool in any way at all? Live your homeschool life without restrictions. How would it look?
Today I want you to start brainstorming.
Brainstorming is a technique that helps you come up with a list of ideas. There are just two rules –
- Don’t discount an idea no matter how harebrained or impractical it seems. Write it down anyway. It may hold the seed of a more practical idea – or spark a new idea that you love. So stay open and welcome new and unusual ideas.
- Go for quantity not quality. You can evaluate the ideas later – but for now try to get as many wild and exaggerated ideas down on paper as possible.
I would like you to brainstorm at least 20 ideas to the following question.
How could we have our best homeschool year yet?
If you can think of more than 20 that’s great. Just keep writing them down.
Keep in mind all the previous work you have been doing. This focuses the ideas on ones that compliment your dream homeschool.
To help you get started, I have a made a printable page available from my Best Homeschool Year Yet Planner and Workbook. Just click on the image below.
Dream a BIG dream about your homeschooling.
Don’t let the fact that it might not all be possible hold you back. What would give you joy and make you feel blessed? If homeschooling was the most fulfilling thing you have ever done, what would it be like?
I can’t give you any help with this one because it is such a personal journey. I want you to be as specific as you can to your family and situation.
But here are some general ideas to help.
I hope you have fun with this one. Get the children involved if they are old enough.
And don’t forget to leave me a comment with about some of your ideas.
